( cue a double knock at the door, hands dropping to her sides so she can shove her phone in the pocket of her pants, smile already playing at her lips, maybe even tossing in a verbal: ) Knock, knock, ( just for fun. )

[ Steve tosses his phone onto his counter and then moves over to the door. He doesn't run, but he doesn't linger before opening it. He's seen her naked. He's seen her in a very interesting way, but he's still all nerves. This is unique for him. Different than what he's used to with women. She's the one that steered Steve around the bends. Here he is. For a second time with her. It's kind of dizzying really when he opens the door to see her standing there. She's just as pretty as the last time he laid eyes on her. Probably more so. ]

Ya know. [ His smile is lopsided and wide as he studies her. ] It's a little insane how you keep getting prettier and prettier each time I see you. [ He steps out of the way for her to step inside. He didn't invite her all the way over here just to let her linger out there. ]

( steve's still as — outrageously, blindingly good-looking as she remembers from eudio, even if she'd spent some time back in her world before being zapped into this new city. something bubbles up in her gut as she just gazes at him for a moment, light and airy, and she realizes that it's sheer, unbridled joy.

a fling or not, sara wasn't sure if she'd ever see steve again.

he smiles, and it's hard not to let her own widen in return, letting his sweet compliments roll over her as he lets her inside. before she knows it, sara's sneaking up onto her tiptoes just enough to loop her arms around his neck in an almost uncharacteristic — from what he knows of her, anyways — hug, breathing him in for a moment, and then tipping her chin up to look at him, eyes bright. ) You sure are a sight for sore eyes yourself, Rogers.

[ Flings aren't something you call relationships. They're just supposed to be fun. Isn't that right? Quick and light. But Steve's never been good with living by the new social norm. If she tells him to screw off then he'd certainly obey that, but right now he can't really think of a good reason not to be around her. Maybe he's a little attached, but in a weird way she somehow became important very quickly. They don't know too much about each other, but because of that night Sara Lance somehow cemented herself into the ranks of Peggy Carter and Bucky Barnes when it comes to important people. It's strange to think about.

It's definitely a different Sarah move. His arms come around her waist and he holds her close. She's definitely smaller than him. He's never more aware than when he's hugging her like this. She smells good too. Damn her. Steve looks down at her and lets out a laugh. ]

I think you're the only girl to tell me that.

[ He uses his foot to shut the door behind her and lifts her up. Come on, Sara, he's definitely carrying you. ]

( a laugh, bright, escapes her as steve picks her up, her legs wrapping around his waist, fingers linking together at the back of his neck. it feels a little silly, but god is it nice to just let loose for five seconds. ) Nuh uh, ( sara insists through soft laughter that she's not quite ready to contain just yet. ) There's no way in hell.

( laughter starting to quell on its own, she kisses the tip of his nose, playful.

unlike a lot of people from eudio, she doesn't have some sort of deep, dark history with steve; he's just probably the sweetest guy she'd met there, far too handsome for his own good, and they'd had a good time together. reuniting with him feels kind of freeing in some inexplicable way. )

[ It's good they don't have pasts with each other. Steve's isn't the easiest to process or swallow. From the serum to HYDRA and all the way to the plane crash. He's talked a little about his age, but Sara has never really been the type to ask a hundred questions. Not that he minds when people do that, but Sara seems to just accept Steve. It's nice. It makes being around her nice. The lack of complication that comes with seeing her is refreshing. He's not Captain America or former Captain America. He's Steve Rogers and that's all she needs to know. Simple without confusing and complicated strings.

He doesn't need to know about her past. Who she's killed. How many people she's killed. He isn't a boyscout despite what people say. People fall. They die. You can't save everyone right? Though technically he's here to save people. Still. All he needs to know is that she likes him. Likes being around him. And she makes his head spin sometimes when she kisses him. ]

It's true. [ To the easy chair he goes. He sits in it with Sara still in his arms. He'll be her chair as well unless she wants to move. Which he's fine with as well. ] Then again you are the first girl to say and do a lot to me. Doesn't surprise me you got this one too.

( steve rogers can apparently add "makes a good chair" to his certainly long list of skills and abilities — certified sara lance approved, as she finds herself sitting in his lap again, thighs straddling his, seated very comfortably.

her fingers slide up into the cropped blonde hair at the back of his neck and then down again, hands moving so her thumbs can brush against his jaw, chiseled and very nearly perfect, head tilted as she lets her gaze wander over his face for a moment, lets herself really study his features for a moment. )

I guess that's kind of my job now, huh. ( it's hard to keep the smile off her face, so sara doesn't fight it, even as she speaks. ) Makes me wonder what other kinds of firsts I'm gonna have to steal from you.

[ It makes his heart hammer, but he's less nervous about these things. Having her in his lap. He's had her here before. He remembers how she felt. He remembers the curves of her body and the softness of her touch. Yet he knows that through all that she's got sharp edges and such. He doesn't doubt for a single second that she isn't a force to be reckoned with. He's never been the type to underestimate. Mostly because he knows damn well what it's like to have people do that to him. Big things come in small packages. He's living proof of that.

He lets out a pleased hum when she does that. It's silly things like that. Small touches. Little moments. They make him happy. He's not sure when the last time he was truly happy. When she looks at him it's different. In some ways it reminds him of Peggy. She sees him. Not just the Steve that Private Lorraine say. She sees parts. She's simpler though. Not Peggy. Not Sharon. She's just--Sara and that's good enough for him. ]

I think you could say that, yeah. [ He thinks for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. ] I dunno. I was a busy guy during the war. Didn't have time for a lot. After the ice I threw myself into work again. Guess you have some things to break me into. World definitely changed a lot when I was under.
